Anonymous asked: Can you tell us anything more about noel thrasher? who was she?
let her music speak for itself. she is my friend and the biggest influence on my art there will ever be.
Anonymous asked: when you dont credit noel thrasher songs as covers, are you at all worried about people taking them as your own work & words like in the case of posthumous release?
she is credited. posthumous release is the only time i did a direct “cover” of her work. also that song was co-written with justin blackburn and everyone involved is aware of it.
i reworked and covered her in the past to spread awareness of her art because she stopped recording years ago. i mastered all her old demos to make people aware of her. i’ve never tried to take credit for her art, only spread it through the universe.
i covered “hmm…i was born” as “posthumous release” because it is a song that means more than anything to me. the album version is really minimal and every single line she wrote I have lived and am living. I try to end all my records with a song i’d be happy to be my last. I can think of no better way to end my art’s life than with a noel thrasher song.
Anonymous asked: Can you explain your thoughts on musicianship? I am guessing that if you were given the option to have either a band that consists of top-notch musicians who are experts at their instruments or a band that consists of some of your pals who want to play and aren't as proficient musically you'd probably pick your pals.
this question is odd to me.
because my band consists of top notch musicians who are also my best friends.

also check out some words on why we recorded it this way, how, where, who, when, etc & anything else you might question us on over at Portals today.
thanks to sean mercer & nick hughes for their work on the song & vid.

Anonymous asked: how big of a following did you have when you had released baby prayers/stoned alone? curious because i found/joined the party when blue suicide dropped.
Baby prayers era i had zero following. It was only slightly more when i released stoned alone.
I’m still relatively unknown, but i also have some of the most generous and amazing listeners on the planet which is more valuable than all the world’s notoriety.
Anonymous asked: what did you play at the show last night?
Inside you, pepsi/coke suicide, white trash vhs, cry babies, her sinking sun, partners in crime, virgin veins, her vore
