Anonymous asked: you're a fantastic lyricist, how do you usually go about writing them, are they pre written or do you write to music?
It’s always different. Lately I never have time to write songs because of my constant work schedule so on my walks to my job I sing songs in my head and figure out what the chords are later.
Lyrics don’t really matter much to me. I just try to get a feeling out by any means necessary. I’ve learned a lot from writers like Justin Blackburn or my friend Jessica Oliver about how to say things I thought weren’t able to be worded.
I feel like I learned how to write lyrics when I wrote “JonBenet” for the Gremlins album. It took a long time, but most things do when they’re real.
