I met Chaz while he temporarily lived in Spartanburg, SC which is where I was born. That was probably six years ago. The rest of Toro Y Moi used to play in various other Columbia, SC bands and I just got to be pals with them over the years. Jordan, who plays guitar and keyboards, helps run Fork and Spoon records which put out “Blue Suicide”.
I only know Katie as far as kids in Braids, but I’m a big fan of their music.
