tortureyourpop asked: So why is it that you started releasing music with the moniker, Elvis Depressedly? What would you say are the biggest differences between the projects? Is Coma Cinema over? Abandoned Lands was really really great.... btw
Well, originally I had intended to make a black metal record, but save the planet, kill yourself was the result, and it still sounded like nothing else I had done so I thought a new moniker would be fitting. Also I moved to a new city last year, and it’s harder to get in the vibe of what I thought Coma Cinema was. I haven’t finished a Coma recording since I moved to Columbia, SC.
I guess the difference is that with Coma Cinema I had for the most part, a studio or place I could go where all the instruments were and worked consistently. When I moved I had lost everything and had to record albums with whatever I could find or borrow from someone. This kind of change of scenery makes all these albums just not feel like Coma Cinema records to me.
I’m glad you liked Abandoned Lands, I was really proud of it but no one seemed to share my enthusiasm and I took it down after a while. The closest thing to “out of print” you can get to these days.
