It was mostly moving to a new city. Also most if not all the gear I had during the period I was recording under Coma Cinema has broken or been lost to time.
My life changed drastically and became more difficult. I felt like a different person. The name Elvis Depressedly is a way to laugh at my own suffering. To make fun of the sad sac reputation I have that I don’t think I deserve.
Plus it’s more freeing. There aren’t as many expectations for an ED record.
Also Coma Cinema became a band instead of a solo project, of course that isn’t true anymore since everyone but me sort of quit or became too busy.
